- Remove or support exceptionally heavy trusses to avoid stem breakage. In containers use at least a very large pot (commercial guidance suggests 40 cm+ diameter) and sturdy support. Greenhouse/polytunnel cordon culture is also well established. Soil/culture: fertile, well-drained loam with consistent moisture, RHS also accepts clay or sandy soils if well drained
